What to Expect...
We understand that visiting a new church can make you nervous. We hope that by answering some of your questions ahead of time, we can make that experience easier for you. You can also watch a short video to get a “sneak peek” at what goes on here on Sunday mornings. If you still have questions, please feel free to contact us and we will be happy to talk to you.

What is the music like?
Different people like different kinds of music, so we offer two services: traditional and blended. Check out our Worship Services page to get more details about these services.
What should I wear?
We want to get to know the real you, so what you wear is completely up to you. People in our church family wear a variety of clothes: from suits & ties to jeans & t-shirts. Wear whatever makes you feel comfortable.
What is available for my kids during the service?
Children are important to us, so during our 10:15 service we have special activities planned to help them enjoy church and get to know God too! Nursery is available during the entire service for children under 2 1/2 years of age. About halfway through the service, children ages 2 1/2 through 2nd grade are invited to Children's Church.
We also have children’s bulletins available for any kids that decide to stay in the service. These bulletins have fun Bible activities that kids can do on their own while their parents listen to the sermon.

What will happen when I arrive at the church?
You can park in a parking space labeled “visitor” right in front of the door waiting just for you. Our friendly and helpful greeters will meet you at the door. They will give you a smile and a program that will tell you what to expect in the service that day. They can also direct you to the worship area, the restrooms , children’s classrooms and anywhere else you might need to go during your visit.
Will I be called on or publicly embarrassed during the service?
We want you to feel at home during your time with us, so we will NEVER make you do anything that you don’t want to do.
But we DO want you to know that you are important to us, so there will be an opportunity in the service for you (and all the first-time visitors) to simply raise your hand to receive a special gift that we have prepared for you.
You can choose to raise your hand or simply remain anonymous. Also, if you enjoy your time with us and would like someone to visit or call you during the week, you can indicate that by writing down your name and contact information on the attendance pad as it passes by.
But it is totally up to you with no pressure from us.

Will I be expected to contribute toward an offering?
No.
The members of our HCOB family consider it a joy to give back to God for the many blessings He has given us, so we collect an offering as part of our worship to give our regular attenders this opportunity. But you are our guest, and we want you to just sit back and receive what God desires to give you during your visit. You will never be pressured into giving financially at our services.

Will the pastor’s message be boring and long?
No.
Our pastors’ messages are designed to encourage you and help you apply what God says in the Bible directly to your life. Our pastors communicate in a down-to-earth style that is easy to understand.
They struggle with the same issues as you, and they want you to find the same hope in Jesus that has kept them going through the difficulties of life. Their messages typically last about 20 minutes. You can listen to their messages anytime on this website.

What if I have difficulty hearing or seeing?
Just ask one of our greeters and they will be glad to give you a large print program and/or hymnal.
We also have small earpieces available so that you can adjust the volume of the service to a level that is comfortable for you.
