Jeremiah was a 7th Century BC prophet tasked with proclaiming God’s message to the people of Judah. His words were a warning – they were to tun from their sinful ways and toward God. God had seen their idolatry of turning to other gods, and as a result He would bring judgement. We get a glimpse of that judgement in Jeremiah’s prophecies. Still, Jeremiah’s message offers words of hope of God’s restoration, if they listened and obeyed.
