Children’s Ministry

“I have no greater joy than to hear that my children are walking in the truth.” 3 John 1:4

At Hempfield Church of the Brethren, we take seriously the privilege it is to speak love and truth into the children entrusted to our care. Jesus Christ himself reminded his disciples of the value he placed on even the youngest among them and we honor these young lives as well.

Each Sunday, we provide nursery care for infants and toddlers through age three during our 9:30 a.m. worship service. Similarly, children ages three through Grade 5 are go directly to their age appropriate classes. With three classes, 3 years through Kindergarten, Grades 1-3 and Grades 4-5, children enjoy a time of scripture based education through hands-on object lessons and learning experiences, games, corporate praise and worship and other structured activities. This is a time to learn who God is, how he values his people and to praise and honor him! Children are invited to join their parents in the main 9:30am service on the 5th Sunday of given months.

Throughout the year we offer activities such as Vacation Bible School, an Easter Egg hunt, Parent’s Night Out, church family game nights, Fall Harvest Fest, Kids Connect— an open gym for toddlers and preschoolers— and much more!

Please know that your child’s safety is very important to us. We follow safe church guidelines and policies. Every volunteer has been vetted with appropriate safety clearances.
