Ministries We Support
“Sympathy is no substitute for action”
David Livingstone, missionary to Africa
Sympathy was an attribute that Jesus displayed time and time again as He felt for others and their situations. “When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd.”
Yet, Sympathy Alone is not Enough! Sympathy is a God-given emotion, but it is a response that should spur us into action! Jesus led by example; His compassion was always followed by an action. “Moved with compassion, Jesus stretched out His hand and touched him, and said to him, ‘I am willing; be cleansed.’” Mark 1:41
